Direct competitors of your business are already running Google Ads campaigns. This is a good starting point.

I study the competition, the keywords they are bidding on, the average price per click and do some simulations for the campaign we are about to create.

I prepare the campaign strategy and create its structure in a document called the "Google Ads Budget" in marketing agencies.

This document contains, at a macro level, the campaign, ad groups, and the keywords associated with the ad groups. It also contains an estimate of the potential traffic and its cost.

In the document, which you will receive at the end of this step, you will also find a recommendation on the budget you should invest in the campaign to achieve the expected results.

After receiving approval for the proposed structure and budget, I start to implement the technical settings and launch the campaign with the first sets of ads, to begin the testing phase.

After implementing the campaign, it enters the maintenance phase. In other words, I start testing and optimizing the campaign based on the results obtained.

I add negative keywords to the campaign (words/expressions for which we do not want to display ads), add new keywords, test new ads, adjust the amounts bid for keywords or conversions, etc.

This is the part I like most about Google Ads, as it requires attention to detail, creativity, and challenges my experience the most.

I provide a monthly performance report for the ongoing campaign/s.

However, I usually keep my clients updated throughout the month on the evolution of the campaign/s. This way, we can optimize almost constantly and make timely decisions before consuming the budget in a direction that does not produce the desired results.
